Students’ need for food and toiletries continues to rise at UH Mānoa.
Food Vault Hawai‘i is a pantry open to more than 18,000 registered students at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Our mission is to help address student food insecurity with food and toiletries. Since opening in October 2018, Food Vault Hawai‘i has distributed more than 163,000 pounds of food and toiletries to UH Mānoa students in need.
Here’s what students are saying about Food Vault Hawai‘i:
“I’ve made the food from Food Vault Hawai‘i go a long way, with enough food for almost a week. This has been a huge help while I was looking for work and was on a tight budget.”
“In months when I struggle to make my income cover all my needs, Food Vault Hawai‘i services have provided peace of mind to know that I will be able to eat. It’s lifted that burden and made it easier to focus on my studies.”
“After paying for school and living expenses, I sometimes don't have enough money to buy food. Food Vault Hawai‘i has helped me as a student by supplementing my food supply.”
“I wouldn't have been able to eat some days if it wasn’t for Food Vault Hawai‘i services. I am incredibly grateful and hope the program continues.”
“I have gotten so many meals and food items from the Food Vault Hawai‘i. Helps relieve the stress of trying to make my small grad student stipend go a long way.”
