We are the leader of nursing education and nursing research in Hawai‘i and across the Pacific Basin. Our mission is to provide an innovative, caring and multicultural environment in which we work together to generate and transmit knowledge, wisdom and values to promote quality of life and health for the people of Hawai‘i.
The school has a robust undergraduate nursing program that helps to address the nursing shortage, and the graduate nursing program (producing nurse practitioners) helps to address the primary care provider shortage in Hawai‘i.
Students are trained in our UH Translational Health Science Simulation Center, which is the only simulation center of its kind in Hawai‘i. This center provides direct hands-on experiential learning in a safe environment that augments direct patient care experiences. Students engage with our clinical faculty in many diverse healthcare and community settings across the state. Students also engage with research faculty on scholarly projects. Our faculty produces innovative research focused on reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes for the people of Hawai‘i.
Please support nurses by donating today. Funds will go to support student scholarships, updating the Simulation Center, general support and advancement for our nursing programs and research enterprise.
