In the wake of unprecedented environmental challenges and community resilience, the Puko‘ahina‘ole Water Quality Laboratory at UH Maui College conducts scientific investigations that critically advance our understanding of public health, environmental sustainability, and ecosystem preservation. Through meticulous research and collaborative partnerships, the water quality staff, interns, and Maui Strong Fellows are working to generate vital insight to address complex environmental issues facing Maui.
We provide analytical services directly supporting community health and ecosystem preservation. Beyond our analytical services, we are committed to fostering the next generation of scientists. Our laboratory provides hands-on STEM workshops for students of all ages, giving them authentic laboratory experience and insight into scientific careers.
