The UH West Oʻahu University Band has made music and positive impacts on the lives of our students and the West Side community for 11 years. We have been grateful to the Pearl City High School Band Program for providing a home – including instruments, equipment and rehearsal space – to our community-university band.
Membership under the direction of Dr. Chadwick Kamei has grown from 40 members to 100+ members as the band has performed in communities all over Oʻahu and helped to provide honor and distinction to our students and their ʻohana for our campus commencement ceremonies.
Now we ask for your support as we create a new home for our band on the UH West Oʻahu campus, to help our campus leverage the community-gathering power of music and contribute to a vibrant campus life. Please consider making an investment in our students and community by donating to the UHWO Band – Program Support Fund, to help our band acquire instruments and equipment (see the $108,000 itemized budget), and make community music-making a reality for our students and our West Side community.
